My last dive of 2025 was at Ida for the first time in ages, and what a discovery it was!
Hello everyone! This is Mei! ･:*+.\(( °ω° ))/.:+ I hope to enjoy many different oceans in 2026, so please look forward to it! Today's post is about my last dive of 2025.
We went to Ida as requested! The weather was great, and we found many different creatures!
First, we went straight to the deep area for the Sand Divers. They were out as a pair and looking good, but when I circled around and called everyone, a lizardfish darted past the bottle from a distance 💨, and they retreated for a while before I could get a good shot.

A zebra turkeyfish trying to escape deep into a hole. We enjoyed a relaxed two-tank dive, but...
There were a lot of jellyfish in the shallow area, and I thought, "This is it...!" With an unfounded confidence that if I searched, there must be something pelagic, I looked up and searched.
There it is~!!!!

We all gathered around to photograph it while swaying on the surface.
I took many pictures and observed it, and I thought I had identified it. Just to be sure, I sent a picture to my instructor, and they showed my clumsy photo to some important people and taught me... 😭 lol It's been confirmed! It's a juvenile ribbonfish!
Wow, I was so moved when I found it 🥹 I found it on the first tank, and searched for it again on the second, but couldn't find it. It really was a miraculous encounter 🥲 The ocean is all about once-in-a-lifetime encounters, and I hope to meet many more creatures! I want to dive safely and happily this year, so thank you all in advance!
