December has started today! Only one month left in 2025...
So, I'm starting my big cleaning bit by bit (lol). The plan is to gradually finish it in a month~
If it gets dirty again in half a month, I'll do it again (lol).
So, today's blog is about the ocean this weekend
We went to Izusan by boat as requested
It's been a while since I've been to Izu after returning from Kashiwajima. I heard rumors of the water temperature being 18℃, so I bundled up well and went in, only to find it was 20℃.
That was a lifesaver~~~
I was well-protected from the cold and comfortable
The marine life in Izusan is so vibrant! It's untouched, so everything is big!
The sponges at the dive spot I visited after a long time were incredibly magnificent in size.
The water temperature is still high. Sea slug sightings are a bit disappointing... Izusan will have more when the water temperature drops!
If you search, you'll find various things. I'm looking for people who want to dive meticulously during the upcoming season.
After diving
Lunch was Izusan's specialty Motsu-jiru and delicious grilled squid
It was a feast!
To warm up our slightly chilled bodies, we headed to Hashiriyu, one of Japan's three oldest hot springs!
It's a short walk (lol), a luxurious sightseeing experience.
This hot spring source was discovered 1300 years ago
It's a rare horizontal cave-style hot spring in Japan.
It is said that Minamoto no Sanetomo composed the poem: "The swift hot spring that flows from the south of the mountains of Izu is a sign from the gods."
Before the Meiji era, it was worshipped as the divine hot spring of Izusan Shrine.
It continues even in modern times, Minamoto no Sanetomo.
