FAQs

◆General diving

  • All courses are open to healthy individuals aged 10 and over.
However, if you have a history of respiratory illnesses such as asthma, or circulatory problems related to the heart or blood, you may not be able to participate. Please make sure to check the medical history questionnaire.
  • There are several illnesses that may pose a risk during diving.
These include angina, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, high blood pressure, asthma, pneumothorax, and epilepsy. In any case, if you have a pre-existing medical condition, please consult a specialist doctor before participating.
We can also introduce you to local specialists who are knowledgeable about diving, so please feel free to inquire.
  • As long as your menstrual pain is not severe, you'll be fine.
You may participate in diving while taking medication to delay your period, so please do so if needed. Please dive within a range that does not strain your physical condition on the day.
  • Yes, that's fine. However, since there's no guarantee it won't come off or get lost, we recommend bringing disposable contact lenses.
  • To prevent decompression sickness, a diving-related illness, you must wait at least 18 hours after diving before flying. Please keep this in mind when making your plans.
  • Solo participants are very welcome! Many of our customers join alone, and our staff will provide full support, so you won't feel lonely. Making friends with other participants on the same course and expanding your social circle is one of the charms of diving.
  • Rain is not a problem for diving at all. We will proceed as scheduled even on rainy days.
In the event of strong winds such as typhoons causing rough seas, we may be forced to change or cancel courses. No cancellation fees will be incurred if the course is canceled due to our judgment in the event of bad weather.
However, please note that cancellation fees will be incurred if you cancel at your own discretion.
  • Of course, you can dive in winter too. The period when the water temperature drops (to a minimum of around 20°C) is also when the ocean's visibility significantly improves.
From large creatures to macro life, winter in Ishigaki Island is also highly recommended. Even though it's winter, it's the tropical Ishigaki Island. You can dive comfortably with a wetsuit and hooded vest.
If you say, "I'm sensitive to cold," then diving in a dry suit is also a good option.
  • We guide you on two boats, one with a capacity of 15 people and the other with a capacity of 13 people. While they are not large cruiser types, they offer ample space for you to relax comfortably.
There are also toilets available. Although there is a space to avoid the sun, we recommend bringing your own sunscreen.
  • While we are unable to look after your children at our facility, we can recommend a childcare center in the city. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can rest assured.

◆License Course

  • A diving license certifies that you have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to dive safely. With a beginner's license, you can enjoy diving in almost any sea in the world.
  • This refers to organizations that establish the necessary rules for safe diving.
There are various certifying agencies, but the general training content is consistent across them.
S2CLUB Ishigaki Island issues PADI licenses, which are the most widely recognized and have the highest number of certifications issued worldwide.
  • You don't need to be able to swim like a competitive swimmer, but those with an extreme fear of water may take longer to complete the course.
With diving, your breathing is assured, and you wear fins to propel yourself underwater. Please rest assured that even if you can't swim or tread water, you can gracefully swim while diving.
  • Yes, that's fine. Those with a license can book for fun diving, and it is possible to join the same schedule as those undergoing license training.
  • If you are healthy and at least 10 years old, you can obtain a license at any age. There is no upper age limit, so there are many senior divers as well.
  • While it varies depending on each individual's pace, it generally takes about 3 to 7 days.
Some individuals who wish to study at a more leisurely pace spend about a month on home study. The more days you can dedicate to home study, the more thoroughly you can learn at your own pace, so please make your reservation as soon as your schedule is set.
  • There are cases where you may not be able to obtain your license during your stay due to poor health or poor ocean conditions caused by a typhoon. Please ensure you are in good physical condition before participating. Lack of sleep can hinder ear equalization.
Additionally, there are certain skill standards for the licensing course, and if these standards are not met, you will not be able to obtain your license. In such cases, additional training (at an extra cost) may be required.
However, since our shop offers small-group private lessons, you will have ample opportunity to practice, and most people successfully obtain their licenses.

◆Fun Diving

  • Normally, teams consist of 2 to 4 members, with a maximum of 6. Team formation is determined based on each member's skills and goals. We do our best to accommodate your preferences, so please do not hesitate to inform us in advance.
  • Yes, that's fine. Let's not surprise the manta rays. Instead of going on your first dive when you're still getting used to things, let's gradually refresh your skills on subsequent dives before we go meet the manta rays.
  • You can see manta rays year-round if the ocean conditions are good, but late March to early May and September to mid-October are especially good times to see them because it's their mating and spawning season.
During that season, the number of manta rays you can see in a single dive dramatically increases. We can't guarantee you'll see them as it depends on nature, but please come and witness their majestic presence.
  • First, if you are concerned about seasickness, please be sure to bring motion sickness medication. For those who experience severe seasickness, it is recommended to take the medication the night before.
Also, if you let us know when you make your reservation, we will do our best to guide you to nearby spots with shorter travel times. Most of the time, the break between the first and second dives will be on the boat. However, if the waves are high, we may take a break at the port. Please feel free to consult us, as we will do our best to guide you in a way that minimizes seasickness.
  • A descent line is provided. You can descend slowly at your own pace using the rope without rushing. Also, please be sure to consult with your instructor before diving. They can offer advice and help you feel more at ease.
  • Please be assured that our boats are equipped with restrooms.
  • Of course, it's fine. Please send it with the following precautions to prevent any trouble:
