The Hokkaido Drift Ice Tour
"To put it mildly, it was the best!!!"

There's so much to write about, so I'll report it in three parts.
This tour, held from Feb 24th for 3 nights and 4 days, had a problem right at Haneda Airport during departure!
Due to a plane issue, we were stuck inside the aircraft for three hours...
However, it might be because of this trouble that the tour turned out to be even better.
Upon safely arriving in Shiretoko, Hokkaido, a different world awaited us.
Drift ice as far as the eye can see to the horizon!
Furthermore, because of the delay in our arrival, we soon entered sunset time.
There are no words to describe this view other than "the best!"
It was truly a miracle, as there was no drift ice at all just a week before.
Since we came all the way to the ends of Hokkaido, we enjoyed sightseeing as well as diving.
The view from the tip of the scenic cape gives a better sense of the drift ice.
Say cheese!
It's apparently called Godzilla Rock...
The "Fairytale Hill" photo spot was also nice.
It was such a beautiful place that I ended up doing this...
Speaking of Abashiri, you can't miss this place, right?
Yes, Abashiri Prison.
There was a famous escaped prisoner, it seems.
There were other unusual prisoners too...
