Even with unpredictable weather and sea conditions, an Izu diver can enjoy diving anywhere!
Hello everyone! Mei here(^^)/~~~ This weekend, I'm off on my first overnight trip to Chiba, so this is a pre-scheduled post~ The wind and weather aren't ideal, but it looks like we'll be able to dive, so I'll enjoy it with safety first! So, last week's holiday was supposed to be a wonderful tour watching the Atami fireworks from a boat✨ but... Due to the typhoon, Izusan (boat point) was closed! It was too dangerous, so the boat was brought ashore ( ;∀;) Well, that was a pickle lol The weather kept changing right up until the last minute, and I was at my wits' end, so I checked the forecast and made a decision in the early afternoon the day before.
Let's dive in Shiura and have a BBQ!!! lol I'm so grateful to the old man at Shiura who kindly accepted our sudden request😢
The ocean was cleaner than I expected, and there were so many creatures that it was busy ( ̄▽ ̄;) A tiny Jorunna parva
And this super tiny Glossodoris cincta KANA-chan took a picture of it for me
I saw so many Pegasus seamoths, I wondered how many there were! And all of them were big. There were definitely at least 4 individuals.
The "Odori Kakure Ebi" (Dancing Anemone Shrimp) that I saw here and there, I feel like I didn't see them much in the past. Red-spotted shrimp, White-striped red-spotted shrimp, and Anemone shrimp were the main translucent shrimp in Izu. Even if I search, more pictures from the south appear than from Izu, so they probably prefer warmer places~ although they're fine in Izu too. Does that mean that with global warming, Izu is comfortable even without effort? I'll ask the "Hentai Club" next time.
This time, there were many pufferfish too. A spotted pufferfish whose eyes are hard to locate at first glance. It's big and moves slowly, but it's surprisingly quick.
A quite grown-up and less cute Stellar pufferfish. This one really kept looking at me~
KANA-chan apparently saw this one during free time. It seems to have many supraorbital dermal flaps, so it might be a blenny other than a moss blenny. And this time, my personal hits were two. One is
A Red Frogfish appeared suddenly with no prior information~!! The joy of finding a frogfish is several times greater than other creatures. And this one has a slightly strange feature. Observe it carefully and try to find it. Did you get it? The answer is
It has copepods attached next to its eyes!!! Lol It's so incredibly cute ww But those white ear-like parts are apparently eggs, so the copepods themselves aren't that cute. But it totally looks like a bunny, so you'd be happy if you found it, right? It's not something you can just look for and find, though, lol. And the other one was a shell of a fan scallop lying in the rubble. It was in my peripheral vision, but did something move? It's not alive anymore, is it? While waiting, oh my!!
(It's out of focus, but) there's an octopus in it!!! What a cute home!
I'm very sorry, but I took the liberty of just taking some evidence photos. After enjoying 3 dives, it was time for
BBQ!!! Aki-chan took a lot of pictures for me, which was a great help (´;ω;`)
Since it was a sudden BBQ, it was simpler than usual, and I even had everyone who only did 2 dives help cut vegetables ♡
I think we had a good time, especially since the weather held up despite everything!
Towards the end, the old man from Shiura even brought us dessert😢 So grateful~!!!
And everyone got ice cream at the convenience store♡ Thank you for the treat! It was a shame we couldn't see the fireworks, but there are fireworks every year, and I'd like to hold the tour again when the timing is right, so look forward to the next one!! Finally, I'll let everyone (half-forcibly) talk about their impressions of this tour, using the photos KANA-chan took.
See you next time!
