Weather: Cloudy Temperature: 27℃ Water Temperature: -
Hi there! This is TAISHIRO☺︎ from the Ishigaki Island branch!
So, everyone, when you visit Ishigaki Island, you're bound to see soba noodle shops, right?? ![]()
On Ishigaki Island, Yaeyama Soba and Gyu-jiru Soba are famous, but...
Which shop is the best?
For all of you with such worries!!
This time, I'd like to introduce five recommended soba noodle shops that I've actually visited and eaten at! ![]()
Although it's not about the ocean, please take a look as a reference blog for your visit to Ishigaki ![]()
No. 1: Taira Shoten

This is the first soba noodle shop I went to when I came to Ishigaki Island!
Although it's only open on weekdays, it's so popular that there's a line every day!
The shop is near the Southern Gate Bridge, so if you're staying around Misaki-cho, please stop by ![]()
I love their Soki Soba and Jushii Onigiri here ![]()
No. 2: Arakawa Shokudo

This is a diner near my house, and I often go there for lunch on my days off ![]()
Their Gyu-jiru Soba is super famous!
It also gets quite crowded during lunchtime, and sometimes they sell out...
There's grated garlic on the table, so be sure to add a lot and try it!!
You'll probably feel energized for three days ![]()
No. 3: Chibana Shokudo

This is a surprisingly little-known diner in the Yonehara area.
Personally, I think it's a super hidden gem of a soba shop!!
The taste is simple but has a kindness to it that offers a sense of security ![]()
How kind? It's the kind of kindness that has revived my hangover-ridden liver countless times, lol.
Try visiting it while touring around in a rental car ![]()
No. 4: Kimi Shokudo

And here's Kimi Shokudo!
This place is famous for its Miso Gyu Soba, and many Chiba Lotte players and various celebrities have visited!
When you go inside, you'll be amazed by the sheer number of signed papers lining the walls ![]()
It comes with fuchiba (mugwort), but if you don't like it, you can certainly ask for it without!
It gets quite crowded around lunchtime, so be prepared to wait in line ![]()
No. 5: Mochinoki Shokudo

Lastly, Mochinoki Shokudo! Their Yaeyama soba with chicken bone broth is a bit unusual, but I personally love it ![]()
The dishes other than soba are also delicious, so please do visit!
Also, the exterior and interior of the shop are very stylish, and there's a parakeet outside that might talk back to you if you speak to it?!
It has the atmosphere of a forest restaurant and is very Instagrammable ![]()
Those were my recommended soba shops!
I've been to other shops as well, and there are so many delicious places that it's hard to pick a favorite, so going on a soba shop hopping tour on days you don't dive is also a great idea ![]()
I thought a blog like this might be in demand sometimes, so this was my recommended blog for today!!!
Next time, maybe recommended izakayas?
I don't know when it will be updated, but look forward to it ![]()
That's all for today's blog. I'll be taking my leave now ![]()
Well then, everyone, see you tomorrow!!
