Manta Ray Party on the Surface

Today I'm going to write about yesterday's ocean adventures

 

 

 

 

Those of you who check Instagram probably already know,

 

 

but yesterday was a day of massive surface manta explosions---!!

 

 

 

 

Off Ibaruma, northern Ishigaki Island.

A manta party just 10 minutes from the port

 

 

 

 

Isn't that incredible?!!!

 

 

It's a different sight from the mantas we usually see at the cleaning station.

 

 

They were opening their mouths wide and munching away on their meal

 

 

 

 

Lately, we've been seeing mantas almost every day outside of the manta point

 

 

It's like all the mantas have gathered in northern Ishigaki Island right now!?

 

 

 

 

We saw at least 10 mantas circling right in front of us for a long, long time

It's not often that you see mantas from above at the usual spot,

 

 

 

 

so their jet-black backs really charmed me

 

 

So cool

 

 

It was an amazing time

 

 

I recently bought a drone lol.

It would be awesome if we could use the drone to scout for surface mantas and make it a regular thing

 

 

I'll give it a try
