2025 was another fun year full of playing, diving, and seeing all kinds of creatures!

S2CLUB's fifth diver to exceed 1000 dives has been born!!
It was held at Osezaki, the sacred place for Izu divers!!
This time, we were able to form a group photo formation that was perfect with no sand stirring, the best ever!! Amazing♪ To celebrate, we observed tons of cute creatures!
There were razorfish and ornate ghost pipefish everywhere
See-through transparent Hinge-beak Shrimp
The decorator crabs we often found were all females this time. You can tell by the shape of their backs, so observe them carefully.
Beautiful Takakura's Pygmy Seahorse and
Finally met a white-colored Ornate Ghost Pipefish!! My first one in my life was a black one in Kawana, but I met a different color!
This one found by Zukky is super tiny💦 I think it's probably a Dwarf Scorpionfish.
The Robust Ghost Pipefish discovered by Takeshi has cool skin flaps above its eyes!! It's a dragon type~♪
The drifting organism festival was over, but there might be something attached to the many jellyfish still around?? I managed to photograph this shrimp, but wait, is it carrying eggs?!
We also did night diving this time, can you tell what's in the picture??
Up close it looks like this! It's a type of Box Crab! I'll ask my friend for the name later! It's about 2cm with its arms spread.
And then a megalopa, a crab larva!!! (It's not a species, but a stage of development; I *think* individuals of this size are called megalopa! lol) It was SO CUTE!! With its big round eyes, it buried itself in the sand afterwards. I've thought this ever since I studied it in college, but among all the different names for larvae, megalopa might be the cutest name, lol. Eels are leptocephalus, shrimp are nauplius, zoea, phyllosoma, and so on. It's difficult but interesting because names can overlap or change during development^^
And then the gurnard juvenile that made Hamayu's Yoko-san a little excited! Commonly known as "Hae" (fly) lol It's completely black, so if you take a normal picture, you can't see its eyes or anything, lol. The guides at Hamayu were saying it's earlier than usual this year! Talking with the guides about the changing ocean conditions sounds really fun~
My personal hit at Osezaki this time was the Pygmy Seahorse, but this one is the normal type. It's very cute. The hit was a variant (in color).
Look at thisーーー! This vibrant and slightly metallic body color! I didn't find it myself, but Jumi-kun from Nature Inn Osekan told me about it. I had something to ask him, and he said, "Oh, there's a good one, you should definitely go see it," and he was absolutely right!!! It was the best. As expected from a fellow enthusiast, lol. There were many, many other cute creatures, but let's leave it at that. Everyone will get tired of reading!
Well, thank you for another year! In 2025, I was so happy to finally dive in drift ice! And then I broke my bone in April. lol (Not really funny, I guess) I couldn't dive for about 70 days, and I apologize for the great inconvenience this caused. I made it back in time for the celebration dive with sheer willpower! I dove so much to make up for the time off, and with tomorrow's tour, I'm scheduled for 129 dives! (This is for the dives I logged, not counting discovery dives or courses!) In 2026, I want to hold safe and fun tours without any injuries ( ̄▽ ̄;), so please continue to support us next year. Well then! Thank you very much for everything in 2025. On a personal note, I am still in mourning this year, as I was last year, so I will refrain from offering New Year's greetings. Please have a good year-end! Tomorrow is my last dive of the year~!!!
