First night dive in Oshima in winter, felt like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea?!
Hello everyone! Mei here ＼＼\\٩( 'ω' )و //／／ Last weekend, I went on a winter Oshima tour! 
I’ve been taking the JET ferry round trip recently, so it’s been a while since I rode a large ship ✌️ I enjoyed it with guests who were visiting the island for the first time! 
In summer, you can comfortably enjoy the night view, but this time... it was cold!! 🥶 After 5 minutes on the observation deck, I’d be frozen, so I went down one level and enjoyed the view from a sheltered spot 
Since we stopped in Yokohama this time, I also got to see the night view of Minato Mirai. Around Haneda, I enjoyed seeing planes taking off and landing, and planes lined up waiting to land! 
Due to the strong winds from the low pressure system, all trips except to Oshima were cancelled 😢 The ship was probably not full? But there were people making a lot of noise on the landing, so I arrived at Oshima sleep-deprived 🥱 I took a nap at the inn before starting the diving! 
The wind was strong but the weather was good! How was it underwater?? 
Yes! It was awesome!! Great conditions!! On the first dive, I was leisurely swimming to check everyone's condition, when 
Ohhh??? Don't I know him??? It's the super kind Takky-san, who took a group photo for us in Kawana before! I even met him during the summer Oshima trip lol After this, I was surprised to run into a dive shop from Odawara lol The creature Takky-san showed us was 
A polar bear! Thank you ٩( 'ω' )و 
And a porcupinefish. It had something on its face, like a growth? Then I noticed there were three on the other side... gross 🤢 Like a leech? But it didn't look like a living creature, was it a parasite?? 
What I enjoyed alone was looking for hermit crabs. I like this pink hermit crab because it's beautiful. 
The small plume worm hermit crab took its time to come out this far, but we ran out of time 🤣 When I first found it, it had come out a bit more than this~ 
This time, I dove in Oshima for my first night dive! I was a little nervous (what if I got lost?), but the excitement was greater lol It was a first for one person and a long time for the others, so stay safe! 
I'm starting to have a lot of photos, so just one for now! I found several pygmy squids! They were so cute, frantically spitting ink and darting around 🥰 You can see them in Izu too, but they're small and hard to find, so it's easier to spot them on a night dive! So, on the first day, including the optional night dive, I did 4 dives! Lots of diving ~ More to come next time!
