but the ocean still feels so good, I can't quit it!

Today, I wonder what a discovery dive is like.
For those who want to try it but just glance at the homepage
and can't quite take the plunge.
Here's what a discovery dive at S2CLUB Tokyo is like
This time, it's about a daughter who joined us through a member's referral.
I'll introduce it with photos taken by her wonderful dad, who captured her diving!
First, we don't just jump into the water.
We explain how to put on a mask and fins, and then start with getting used to the water.
This is probably the most nerve-wracking part for first-timers, so we start by slowly floating on the surface of the water.
Check to make sure no hair gets inside the mask.
We practiced putting on fins on land beforehand, so this is the real thing.
In Izu, there are ropes specifically for diving to hold onto for support,
and gentle slopes that make it easy to enter the ocean.
It's incredibly nice how well it's designed for divers.
We thought it would be up to our waist, but depending on the diving spot,
there are places where the rope extends underwater, so you can enter the sea while holding on.
Even beginners can feel at ease.
Not yet. Here, we snorkel.
First, we start by floating with the snorkel in our mouth.
It's nerve-wracking! So this part is important. That's why we take our time.
Although you'll float even with just the wetsuit on,
we also carry a float for snorkeling so you can hold onto it if you're nervous! It's okay!
In the shallow water where you can stand, let's relax and float.

Breathing with a snorkel can be a bit tricky at first, so be careful.
Once you can put your face in the water and breathe, you'll gradually relax your shoulders.
Even where you can stand, you can see quite a few fish.
After snorkeling, conserving energy for diving!
The explanation takes about 15 minutes.
We talk about what to do when diving underwater, hand signals for communication underwater,
rules to follow, how to deal with water getting into your mask or mouth,
names of diving equipment, simple operation methods, and so on.
After finishing the diving explanation, let's go into the underwater world!

The equipment weighs about 20kg on land. Once in the water, the weight is about one-third, so try your best until you get in!
When carrying the equipment, it's hard to squat, so we put on fins like this.
She was excellent! She put them on skillfully.
You'll probably be nervous about breathing for the first time with the regulator, which is a breathing device.

Before that, we do some practice in the shallows, like breathing practice and mask clearing.
